Candor Recovery & Consulting, Inc is a practice offering services to treat and support the complex issues affecting children and families related to trauma, court involvement, and parent-child estrangement. Since it is almost impossible for this to not impact the work environment and other community resources, we strive to provide additional consultation and education where appropriate.
A modern approach
It’s essential that our clients get personalized suggestions incorporating their family and community, not just the individual. Most therapists are trained to work within the limits of and focus on the individual leaving out important influences on why and how we operate in life. We understand and know that a person’s family dynamics and community effect their ability to heal and recover. Rather than do things the typical way, as a trained clinician and social worker we’ve created a dynamic designed around a “family system” and “ecological system” approach.
Our Services & Rates
Private Therapy
Online or in-person, this is designated for individuals, families and couples to process and explore their thoughts, feelings, and needs who are not court ordered to participate in a specific treatment. Typically, meetings are weekly or bi-weekly. Children under the age of 14 are required to participate in person. We incorporate creative arts and experiential approaches along with techniques from Gottman Family Therapy, EMDR, and other trauma focused treatments. Most insurances accepted.
Initial Intake Interview 60-90 min | $250
Individual session begins 50 mins | $175
Family session begins 50 mins | $200
Consultation & Coaching
Online or in-person, this time will be spent evaluating your specific needs in a case as an attorney, as a therapist not familiar with court or estrangement dynamics, or healthcare practitioner with a unique need. This is not therapy.
Individual Consultation 30 mins | $50
Group Consultation 60 min | $50 per participant (3+ participants)
No Insurance and on a limited budget? We occasionally have clinical interns who are completing their masters level education and working towards their competencies to be a therapist. All Interns are supervised and receive regular clinical consultation.
Training Opportunities
Online or in-person, this service will help with what you care most about: your employees. We will help develop a plan to achieve personal and professional goals for a struggling individual employee, a department, or a full organization/corporation.
For individual clinicians wanting to learn more about some of the court involved services; training and mentoring opportunities are available for individual professionals and group practices. Even if you are not wanting to jump in to providing court involved services but want training on how to cooperate when a client you are treating becomes court involved, we have options for this as well.

Reunification and Reconciliation Services
In-person only, this service typically addresses any number of issues related to mental and emotional brain health conditions with a challenging family dynamic (child with unique needs, blended families, etc), or court related concerns like custody and co-parenting. Some services are eligible for a reduce fee agreement if financial need can be supported.
Pricing is based on specific case need.
Custody Evaluations start with a $5000 retainer depending issues and number of children which may be split between the parties.
** Reduced fee options available for families participating on public assistance programs.
Going through a divorce or custody issues is difficult. Let our trained Mediators help with our expertise in child and family psychological needs. Child Inclusive Mediation may be an option.
Mediation Rate: $150/hour with a minimum of three hours due before mediation begins. Mediation costs are typically split between the parties. Some limited Pro-Bono options available. Please have your attorney reach out.
When parents and children are in conflict sometimes the need for specialized assessment and therapy present to help reconcile issues and hurt, or to introduce or reunify estranged caretakers with a child in a safe and trauma informed manner. Most reunification or reconciliation services are court ordered and require an assessment to determine medical necessity for insurance participation. Although services are available if all participants are agreeable. When services are voluntary and do not have a court order requiring participation the cost of the evaluation can be waived.
Evaluation for court involved services: $1000 per caretaker, $600 for primary/single child, $400 for each additional child.
**Reduced Fee Options for families on public assistance.
Case Management and non-clinical services: $200 per hour.
Court testimony: $250 per hour.

We accept all Blue Cross Blue Shield (Wellmark), United Healthcare/Optum, Aetna (Coventry), Cigna, Iowa Medicaid and affiliated MCO’s, Private Pay, FSA & HSA payments for qualifying services that meet medical necessity criteria. We are currently working on network contracting with Medicare, HealthPartners Unity Point, TriCare, among others.
*For HealthPartners UnityPoint Insured clients, a referral for an out of network provider may be completed by your PCP or other physician for out of network coverage.
